Lay Filaments are the brand of new and creative filaments from German inventor, Kai Parthy. Kai has been developing useful and innovative gadgets and materials for the last 20 years and recently turned his attentions to 3D printing filaments.
Lay Filaments were the first ever producers of wood composite filaments and since then Lay Filaments have continued to lead the industry in completely novel and fascinating 3D printing filaments.
Lay Filaments GrowLay
GROWLAY is intended for use with an FDM/FFF 3D printer, and once a design is fabricated the material’s unusual properties can be harnessed. GROWLAY filament can be used as a base for growing plants and other organic matter. By adding water to your 3D print, spores, seeds or even cheese mold can be encouraged to take hold and cover the print.
Lay Filaments REFLECT-o-LAY
REFLECT-o-LAY is a new filament that, during daylight, has an ordinary grey finish, but, when hit with beams of light in the evening, becomes reflective
Lay Filaments LAY AWAY
High-T-Lay, Ethy-Lay, LAYaPVA, LAY-CLOUD are four new dissolvable filaments. The first three of them are water-soluble, just like PVA. But unlike PVA, they are specifically suited for different projects. ETHY-LAY only dissolves in alcohol (spirits). This is advantageous for printed objects that must not come into contact with water
